Gabby Girl

We've got a gabby girl! She babbles the day away. It's especially cute when she's in her carseat in the back of the car talking away to herself.

She does have a collection of "real" words that she can say. Of course, "mama" came first, followed soon by "dada." She also says "bubba" (Levi J's pet name), "all done," "uh oh," "outside," and I'm pretty sure that yesterday she started saying "doggy."

Dance On

This boy is such a character! He loves to dance and to move, and comes up with the funniest stuff. Enjoy the video samples of his moves.

Cowabunga Birthday Dude!

My baby boy turned four! And we had a big blowout celebration. It was a Thursday morning, and we still managed to have 30 kids come! It was a blast; big inflatable pool, sprinklers, bounce house, piƱata, pizza, cake, and lots of wild kids running amuck.

Levi absolutely loved it. He was in hog heaven. Two years ago he hung on my leg during his entire birthday party; this year I could barely find him. He would hardly come inside!

I'm so glad we could celebrate such an awesome little dude! He's such a sweet kid and such a good friend to so many; I'm so glad he had a great group of people turn out to wish him a happy birthday. :)

Big and Tall

This girl is standing up now too! No wonder she doesn't sleep; there's too much to see now that she's mobile and upright!

And love that little tongue; she's concentrating so hard!

Creepy Crawly

The girl can crawl! Well...almost. Not exactly. But she gets around. And it's pretty funny to watch.

The first video is a short one, the second is longer but sure makes me laugh.

Time to babyproof the house I guess! And also sweep, ugh. And mop maybe too? Wah.

Also, poor little Q is black and blue all over her forehead. It is so rough learning to crawl on tile! We have a rug with cushioning under it set up for her, but as you can see she likes to move around now. So if she has memory problems or trouble reading later on in life, we'll know to blame the pretty Mexican tile.

Beautiful as Quintana Roo

After a YEAR of hiatus, I might just get back into blogging! No promises, we have to see how it goes. But did you miss me??

Our little Quintana Roo joined the family November 10, 2014 at 2:43 pm, weighing 7 pounds 2 oz, and was a little beauty right from the start.

After being hospitalized then put on bedrest for suspected preterm labor, she made it all the way to her scheduled C-section! She had us on pins and needles for over two months thinking she could come any day, and instead just teased us all the way to the end. While I absolutely wish I didn't spend three months with contractions and bedrest, I am absolutely glad she waited it out.

The C-section was actually pretty easy! I had wanted to have her naturally, but my doctor wouldn't allow it after having a previous C-section. We were in and out of the OR in under an hour. And the most painful part (that day anyway) was the botched IV, haha. They did give me too much anesthesia and I had trouble breathing, started to dry heave, and overall panicked, but luckily they controlled it within a few minutes and we were back to okay.

When Q was born, she was crying while they washed her and weighed her. She was still crying as they brought her over to me, but as soon as I started talking to her she immediately stopped. She recognized my voice! It just about made my heart burst.

I was incredibly lucky that Niki and her girls came to help us. They stayed with Levi J and made things easy and fun for him while we were in the hospital. He has been nothing but sweet to baby Q since the day she was born. Sometimes his love manifests itself in suffocating squeeze hugs, but it's all meant with love. ;)

Sweet kiss

Okay, not sure she can breathe

Off please!

Haha

Cousins!

And now I'm going to post a lot of adorable pictures of our baby girl. :)

Bald is Beautiful

While we were in Denver in July, we shaved Levi J's head! My mom was holding her head-shaving party at the same time, and we joined in via Skype. Mom was so amazing; she smiled and laughed and had a great time with the whole thing. And she looked fantastic! Levi J was excited to have a haircut like Grams. :)  A whole group of people in Arizona shaved their heads with Mom also, which was just awesome.  She has been so positive and upbeat through this whole ordeal, but I know it has helped tremendously to have people surrounding her full of love and support.

It was all fun and games until hair started falling in his face. Then the tantrum started.

There is literally nothing that a movie can't fix with this boy.
I was pretty sad to see all that cute hair come off. :)

Afterwards he and Piper got hosed down in the front yard.
