Chutes and Ladders

Levi J finally opened his big Christmas present from Grams...a slide! He is one excited kid!

Tiptoe

Levi and I went to the ballet last night. We saw the Miami City Ballet do the Nutcracker. I love love love the Nutcracker! I've probably danced it over 25 times through the years. Miami City did a great job; it was beautiful. Of course, I always think Ballet Continental's choreography is better than anyone else's. But I may be slightly biased. ;)

The Good, The Bad, and the Yucky

Putting his Christmas presents to good use: picking his nose with Luke's light saber!

On a less gross note, this was his prayer yesterday: Heavenly Father, thank you food, thank you cars, thank you daddy, thank you mommy, thank you Sadie (the Rosebrough's dog), bless Sadie, bless Batman, bless bear cakes, bless choo choos, amen!

So sweet. So sincere. He prayed for the things that he really cares about and didn't just repeat words he heard others say. He's such a great kid.

All I Want for Christmas Is You

Merry Christmas! We had a wonderful day. It was the perfect mix of activities and relaxing, just how Christmas should be!

The little guy loved loved loved his presents. Thank you so much to all the family members who gave him fun and thoughtful gifts! He literally had too many presents. We saved a few under the tree for some post-Christmas excitement. He was getting a little burnt out on all the unwrapping.

But he was a happy kid! A bike from Grandma Sherrie, Cars slippers and movies from Santa, a train, stickers, and Amazon gift card from Grams (plus a million trucks that he opened over Thanksgiving and a big present still under the tree!), clothes and a Nerf gun from mom and Dad...the list goes on and on. And Levi J and daddy Levi had a blast playing with his toys all morning.

We went to see the movie Frozen, which inspired Levi J to play in the sn...rain afterwards (super cute movie by the way). And that evening we had turkey dinner with friends and the missionaries.

Though we didn't get to spend Christmas with family (other than our family of three), it was nice to avoid the stress and rush of traveling over the holidays. But you were not far from our thoughts! We love and miss our family this time of year, but we are so very grateful for our blessings: our home, all the comforts we could want, food and toys for our little guy to enjoy, but most of all, our beloved family of three and the gospel of Jesus Christ that gives our lives purpose and direction. I'm so thankful for the Savior's miraculous birth and his even more miraculous life, and I feel very blessed to celebrate him this time of year.

Reindeer Skulls and Minion Kites

I tried to take a picture of Levi J's cute church outfit today. Here's the best I could do. His tie has little reindeer skulls on it! Cute cute cute.

Also today: flying a Minion kite on the beach with Lexi and Ale! I love Florida winters. Be jealous.

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

What have we been up to this week? Christmas, Christmas, and more Christmas! Christmas party at our house (no pictures unfortunately), Back to Bethlehem at a nearby church (pretty amazing production), Christmas party at the park with our toddler bffs, free Christmas circus on the waterfront with Santa riding in on an elephant...can this season last forever? I'm loving this Christmas!

A Horse Is A Horse, Of Course Of Course

We went to a birthday party yesterday for one of Levi J's friends. It was at a horse stable and the kids all got to ride a horse! Unfortunately, Levi J was very assertive in telling us he did NOT want to ride the horse, or even sit on one.
Our city boy also kept calling the horses
camels! At one point, when we asked if he would ride the horse he said, "No. Stay in dirt." He wanted to play in the dirt, not ride a horse. So play in the dirt (and horse manure) he did. And he had a blast!

You Better Watch Out, You Better Not Cry

We saw Santa today for the first time this season. Levi J clung to daddy's leg, then hesitantly sat very stiffly on Santa's lap. He loves Rudolph and Frosty but has not warmed to the big guy yet. We got one halfway decent picture and several I'm-a-hostage-someone-help pictures. Too funny.

Here Is the Church, Here Is the Steeplefa

Levi J "built" this and then said, "Mommy, temple!" Too cute.

Gotta Love Some Christmas Jammies

Saturday night was our ward Christmas party. The last few years our ward has done a Night in Bethlehem (which I loved), but this year was a more traditional Christmas party with Christmas cookies, carols, and games (no Santa though). The kids all wore their Christmas jammies, too, which was cute. There was some discussion of the adults wearing their jammies, but that turned into a very weird ward council discussion about who would wear something from Victoria's Secret, and so adult jammies got nixed pretty quickly.

We had a good time! It was long and we didn't stay to the end (early bedtime for the little guy), but we always enjoy spending time with the ward. And he loved wearing his Christmas jammies!!

Forgot to post this on Saturday, whoops

Last night we went downtown to see the giant sand Christmas tree, the sand sculptures, and to ride the trolley to see all the lights. I love the "Sand and Sea-sons Greetings" theme; it is so cute. And the tree all lit up is pretty spectacular.

Odds and Ends

Here are some random pics from Thanksgiving weekend that I neglected to post elsewhere. Some are hanging-with-Grams pics (dance party and sword fighting the ferns with sticks) and some are from our Thanksgiving walk to the park. Too many cute ones not to share.
