Sick and Tired...oh yeah, and Happy

I think there are one or two people who read this blog who have not heard our news yet...I'm pregnant!! Yay! And also...bleh.

Morning sickness will rule my life for the next few months. Which means there probably won't be too many blog posts, both because we won't be doing very much, and also because I won't feel like blogging. Sorry folks.

But yay for a new baby Baker this November! Let's hope I don't starve him or her. And also Levi J. All food sounds disgusting to me right now.

Here's a cute picture of the big brother-to-be!

I can't remember if I've updated on teaching dance...still teaching! My replacement got promptly fired, and Lisa asked me to sign on for another 12 weeks of classes. Thankfully, she got someone to teach one day of classes, so I teach six classes a week instead of ten. Also, I only teach Monday and Thursday, which is spread out nicely. It's actually going really well. We're currently teaching at a cheerleading gym, which is really fun for Levi J since he can bounce around on the tumbling equipment during class. I have to drag him out kicking and screaming most days! He loves it.

It's a lot of work, but I'm getting used to it and actually really loving it. There were quite a few kids (and parents) who were really excited to see me return and have asked me exactly which classes I'm teaching to be sure to be in my class. It definitely is a boost to be appreciated like that!

Green-Tinged Memories

Two years ago, a St. Patrick's Day picnic was basically the first time I met my dear friends, sometimes called the Moms Group, sometimes called the Toddler BFFs, always known as the girls (and their babies) that I couldn't live without!

Of course, we had to attend our third annual St. Patrick's Day picnic and reminisce about when they were little butterballs who could barely move. Good times were had by all, then and now!

I do have to share one funny story. Little Izzy's dad is named Patryck, so little Liam was thoroughly confused as to why Patryck wasn't there for his party. "But it's Patryck's day? Where's Patryck? Where's his cake? Where's his present?" It did no good to explain St. Patrick's Day to him, because how do you explain St. Patrick to a toddler? Hilarious.

Table Manners

Sometimes my child still eats baby food out of a jar. He likes it, and it's fruits and veggies, so I don't mind. And sometimes he dips a car in it, then licks it off. Should I be embarrassed? Cause I'm not. Veggies are veggies, man!

My Strawberry Shortie

We took a trip with some friends to a strawberry patch again this year. We had so much fun. Picking the strawberries was great, but there was lots of other stuff to do there too that was just as fun. The owners rescue exotic birds, so there is cage after cage of incredible birds to see, big and small. And a few of them talked to us! One kept saying, "Mom! Mom!" Apparently it has listened to a lot of whiny kids!

Of course, there is amazing food, including strawberry shortcake, strawberry milkshakes, and a bakery with all kinda of fresh goodies. We basically had nothing but sugar for lunch. With a little strawberry. And some goat cheese.

Big Baby

Sometimes I wish he were a baby again. And sometimes (more rarely) he wishes he was a baby again.

National Pancake Day, Almost As Good As Christmas

Free pancakes today at IHOP! And Levi J ate his own stack! He also invented a new syrup concoction by mixing strawberry, blueberry, maple, and butter pecan syrup together. He loved it; I thought it was wretched.

It's official! Levi J is starting preschool in August! He's only going to do two half-days a week the first year, but it will still be a big change for all of us. I absolutely love the school, and it was recommended to us by both our pediatrician and the children's librarian. Our little boy is growing up!

Slurpity Slurp

We try very hard to feed Levi J healthy food. But you do have to give treats every once in a while, right? Daddy introduced him to one of daddy's favorite treats....the slurpee! Flavor? Blue of course!

Yes, blue is a color. But if you try to tell me that thing is supposed to taste like raspberry, you're nuts.
