After a YEAR of hiatus, I might just get back into blogging! No promises, we have to see how it goes. But did you miss me??
Our little Quintana Roo joined the family November 10, 2014 at 2:43 pm, weighing 7 pounds 2 oz, and was a little beauty right from the start.
After being hospitalized then put on bedrest for suspected preterm labor, she made it all the way to her scheduled C-section! She had us on pins and needles for over two months thinking she could come any day, and instead just teased us all the way to the end. While I absolutely wish I didn't spend three months with contractions and bedrest, I am absolutely glad she waited it out.
The C-section was actually pretty easy! I had wanted to have her naturally, but my doctor wouldn't allow it after having a previous C-section. We were in and out of the OR in under an hour. And the most painful part (that day anyway) was the botched IV, haha. They did give me too much anesthesia and I had trouble breathing, started to dry heave, and overall panicked, but luckily they controlled it within a few minutes and we were back to okay.
When Q was born, she was crying while they washed her and weighed her. She was still crying as they brought her over to me, but as soon as I started talking to her she immediately stopped. She recognized my voice! It just about made my heart burst.
I was incredibly lucky that Niki and her girls came to help us. They stayed with Levi J and made things easy and fun for him while we were in the hospital. He has been nothing but sweet to baby Q since the day she was born. Sometimes his love manifests itself in suffocating squeeze hugs, but it's all meant with love. ;)
